The quick run down of the World Supercross Canadian GP. Full report ⬇️
Who: Riders that are household names to longtime fans, plus wildcard riders. Series regulars for 2026 included: Jason Anderson, Ken Roczen, Max Anstie, Christian Craig, Joey Savatgey, Enzo Lopes.
What: The World Supercross (WSX), a short supercross series (five rounds in 2026) that runs globally from November to early December.
Where: BC Place stadium, Downtown Vancouver. Take public transit, if you can. If you are going for the early events and fan zone activities, there is parking but obviously, expect to pay a premium for that. Flying in Canada isn’t cheap but if you can score a flight ahead of time when dates are confirmed, you can save and Vancouver is probably not as cold as the part of the country you’re in.
When: This year’s race was November 15, it’s a full day event, fan zone events and rider autographs started around 1pm. The night show ran from about 7-10pm, the usual for most supercross fans.
Why: You should make the trip if, especially if you are in the area. Keep the momentum moving for moto in Canada, indoor and out. Plus, lots of great riders on track. If you have never seen supercross in person, all the better reason, the experience live is amazing.

Race Report / Canadian GP, WSX Vancouver.
Warm cookie in hand and far too much gear in the other, I fumbled from the back of the plane towards the doors and began to make my way out of the Vancouver airport.
Full disclosure, that cookie was done before we landed, if anything it was crumbs that I carried with me off the plane, that and too much gear. What was surprising, was the number of other Yukoners that made the trip down from Whitehorse for World Supercross, they were talking about getting a box suite for all of them next year at one point – a solid contingent!
The World Supercross series was in Vancouver for its Canadian stop, the second round of five. The opening round in Buenos Aires saw Haiden Deegan make his 450 debut, as we now know there was no last minute jump to racing 450 back in the US. Round two would be another debut in WSX, with Eli Tomac lining up for his first race aboard his shiny new KTM.
The SX2 (250) class was dominated by Max Anstie all night, with a clean sweep, holding on to the red plate – carrying that forward to the end of the series winning the WSX SX2 championship. Cole Thompson would finish sixth overall, missing out to Kyle Peters for fifth. Both were tied at 25 but Peters had the better result in the final race.
Tomac’s first race on the KTM didn’t disappoint. It was clear to everyone in the building, from his earliest laps on track,Tomac was not out of place on the new bike.
Some tight racing with Ken Roczen and Jason Anderson kept things exciting but ultimately it was Tomac who would take the top step of the podium. Roczen did manage to get a win in the second of the three races, enough to take second ahead of Jason Anderson.
Overall, both classes provided great racing all night, with the Super Pole session a great end to the day time program. The three race format for both SX1 and SX2 is exciting, and for a shorter series like WSX it makes sense. The WSX also allows for “wildcard” riders, for Vancouver this ended up being Eli Tomac as well as Justin Cooper. Other notable wildcards included Haiden Deegan and Cooper Webb who made appearances at select events.
It would be great to see the series make a stop in Vancouver again in 2026, it fills a great void that was left when the Canadian rounds of AMA Supercross were cancelled. The Montreal Supercross had a brief resurrection under the Triple Crown Series in 2018 and 2019, and with talks of demolition, we might never see another race in the Olympic Oval in Montreal.
It’s great to see a premier supercross series make a return to Canada and it gives the west coast fans some much needed relief. There was a great turn out and next year, hopefully more make it out again. I’ll be in a box seat with all my Yukon friends eating chicken fingers.
